Students and faculty in the 12 career and technical education programs at Delta-Montrose Technical College will celebrate National Career and Technical Education (CTE) week February 11-15, 2008. CTE Week emphasizes the role career and technical education plays in helping youths and adults to achieve career success.
DMTC Receives Grant for Human Patient Simulator

The Delta-Montrose Technical College received a federal Carl Perkins grant to acquire a Human Patient Simulator for the Medical Education branch of the campus. This is a mannequin that simulates vital signs including breath sounds, heart sounds, pulse, etc. It can also be used to give shots and administer IVs. The instructor can set it up to simulate both healthy vitals and signs that indicate health problems.

Colorado FIRST Existing Industry grants are designed for Colorado companies that are implementing new technology to remain competitive and retain jobs in Colorado. Approved training is for transferable job skills that support both the company's economic competitiveness by re-training its workers in new skills, while enhancing the workers' resumes and long-term employment opportunities.
