Criminal Justice Professions
The Criminal Justice program is designed to prepare students for a career in Law Enforcement. The Law Enforcement Academy provides training for students interested in becoming patrol officers. Our program meets the basic training requirements set by the state of Colorado as a prerequisite for taking the test to become Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) Certified. This is a 16 week program with new classes starting twice a year.
Through a cooperative program with Colorado Mesa University, our Law Enforcement courses will transfer into the A.A.S. in Criminal Justice at CMU.
A successful career in criminal justice requires an individual to meet rigorous physical and personal qualifications. Important personal characteristics include honesty, sound judgment, integrity, and a sense of responsibility.
