Academic Advising

Our academic advisor facilitates our students in their education experience. The advisor assists students in planning a realistic educational goal consistent with their abilities, interests, and career goals. Once a student has determined a program at DMTC will help in reaching a career goal, the advisor will provide the information necessary to assist the student through the admissions process. After enrollment, the advisor will assist students in monitoring their educational process. The advisor is also available to help students work through any problems that might come up.

In addition to our designated academic advisor, any of our administrative staff are available to assist students in planning and achieving their educational goals.

Advising Sheets

Advising sheets are available for each program to help students plan their coursework to achieve their educational goal. Advising sheets may be downloaded here.

Career Planning

Students are encouraged to use the career planning tools available through College in Colorado to help them identify a career that fits with their abilities, interests, and skills. The Career Planning link at www.collegeincolorado.org provides access to six career assessments measuring interests, basic skills, transferrable skills, and work values. Based on those results, students can explore related careers and find out what education is necessary to pursue that field of work. Students are encouraged to take the information from these tools with them when they visit an academic advisor.

Students with Veteran Benefits
