EMS112 Emergency Medical Dispatch 2.5 Credits
Provides technical and practical information, skill practice, and written examination for the current or potential emergency dispatcher.
EMS115 First Responder 3 Credits
Provides the student with core knowledge and skills to function in the capacity of a first responder arriving at the scene of an emergency, providing supportive care until advanced
EMS116 First Responder Refresher 2 Credits
Provides the First Responder student with needed updates and review materials to renew and maintain the First Responder certificate.
EMS121 Infection Control for the EMT 0.5 Credit
Provides the student with information regarding bloodborne pathogens, communicable disease and transmission, and safety precautions and procedures.
EMS125 EMT Basic 9 Credits
Enables the student after successful completion of this course to take the EMT Certification Examination subject to the requirements of the Colorado Department of Health and Environment. Includes written and practical examinations. Student must be at least 18 years of age.
EMS126 EMT Basic Refresher 3 Credits
Provides required didactic and skills review for renewing EMT students. Accommodates the needs of the re-entry EMT student.
EMS130 EMT Intravenous Therapy 2 Credits
Focuses on cognitive and skill practice as required by Colorado Prehospital Care program for EMT Basic level IV approval. Examines criteria, procedures, and techniques for ICV therapy; discusses fluid and electrolyte balance and principles and treatment for shock.
EMS134 The Geriatric Patient 1 Credit
Focuses on working with the elderly population and is designed for healthcare providers (EMTs, paramedics, nurses). Utilizes various readings, assignments, papers, experiences, and meetings with elderly people and patients to discover new ways of viewing the elderly and communicating and working with the geriatric patient. Covers the process of assessment of the elderly patient.
EMS150 Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals 1 Credit
Provides the student with core knowledge and skills necessary to provide emergency care to the pediatric patient.
EMS170 EMT Basic Clinical 1 Credit
Provides the EMT student with the clinical experience required of initial and some renewal processes.
EMS175 Special Topics 10 Credits
Provides the student with a vehicle to pursue in depth exploration of special topics of interest
EMS185 Independent Study 6 Credits
Meets the individual needs of students. Students engage in intensive study or research under the direction of a qualified instructor.
EMS203 EMT Intermediate I 6 Credits
Course provides preparatory information and is the first part of the EMT Intermediate program.
EMS205 EMT Intermediate II 6 Credits
Serves as the second course for EMT Intermediate certification.
EMS206 EMT Intermediate Refresher 3 Credits
Meets or exceeds minimum requirements for renewing EMT Intermediate or EMT Intermediates in the re-entry program.
EMS213 Prehospital Trauma Life Support 1 Credit
Provides basic and/or advanced trauma life support information and skill practice.
EMS214 Basic Trauma Life Support 1 Credit
Provides students with information and skill practice to treat trauma patients in the prehospital environment.
EMS270 Clinical:
Provides the EMT-I student with the required field experiences as required by the Colorado Department of Health.

HPR102 CPR for Professionals: (AHA Basic Life Support) 0.5 Credit
Meets the requirement for American Red Cross Professional Rescuer CPR or American Heart Association Basic Life Support for those who work in Emergency Services, Health Care and other professional areas. Material presented in the course is basic patient assessment, basic airway management, rescue breathing, and CPR for infant, children, and adult patients. Students must take this class, HPR103, or the equivalent prior to being accepted in the EMT Basic, EMT Basic Refresher, EMT Intermediate, EMT Intermediate Refresher, or Wilderness First Responder classes.
HPR103 CPR for Professionals Renewal 0.5 Credit
Provides opportunity for currently certified CPR providers to renew certificates.
HPR120 ACLS 1 Credit
Presents the required material for ACLS completion. It will cover arrhythmias, medications, therapeutic modalities for life threatening arrhythmias, airway management, and other treatment modalities used in cardiac and respiratory arrest.
HPR121 ACLS Recertification 0.5 Credit
Presents the required material for ACLS recertification. It will cover rhythm recognition, cardiac drugs, cardiac monitors, and case based scenarios.
HPR122 ACLS Instructor Course 0.5 Credit
Presents information on how to obtain a complete health history; assessment skills of inspection, palpation, percussion, and auscultation are practiced in class.
HPR130 Pediatric Advanced Life Support 1 Credit
Provides students the needed information and skills as required by health care agencies for pediatric emergencies.
HPR131 Pediatric Advanced Life Support Renewal 0.5 Credit
Provides students with updates and skill practice to complete renewal requirements for PALS completion card.
HPR132 Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor 1 Credit
Provides the current PALS provider the information and practice needed to instruct PALS initial and renewal courses.
HPR190 Basic EKG Interpretation 2 Credits
Provides instruction for interpretation of EKG strips, anatomy and physiology of the heart, using three-lead monitoring as a guide. Twelve-lead EKG may be discussed.
HPR200 12 Lead ECG Interpretations 3 Credits
Focuses on each wave and interval of the complex, the axis, and the 12-lead presentation of some rhythm disturbances.
HWE121 Wilderness First Aid & Outdoor Emergency Care 2 Credits
Provides more advanced wilderness care for the First Responder or EMT provider.
